Brittany Valentine is a young adult speculative writer who lives on a forty-acre farm in southern Illinois with her parents, seven siblings, and nine horses.
She’s always loved to read and this quickly turned into a passion for writing. Some of her earliest stories consisted of crazy cartoon figures with elaborately scrawled captions. She couldn’t read her handwriting then and sadly it hasn’t improved much. Go computers!
Inspired by authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, Brittany has a huge soft spot for speculative fiction. Currently she’s working on The Chronicles of Aura, a young adult fantasy series about an orphaned girl who discovers she has the ability to bridge worlds.
Last year Brittany’s novella, Abigail’s Answer, was published by Helping Hands Press. She also had two devotionals published in Pathways to God and another devotional article, “Learning to Trust,” published online and in a local newspaper.
Destined, the first book in The Chronicles of Aura series, is about a young woman who discovers she has the ability to open portals to another world.
Orphaned at sixteen, Alexandra is sent to live with an aunt she’s never met. Once there, she discovers she has the ability to open a portal to another world called Aura. But there’s a problem, an ancient enemy waits for her on the other side.
In Aura a young man named Merrick is on the run with Isobel, a royal fugitive. Together they must journey north, into the heart of enemy territory, to find the missing traveling stone that could send them to a free world.
