My Word of the Year

My word of the year is Finish. I’ve assessed where I am in my writing journey and what I’m missing is a backlog of finished polished manuscripts.

I’m reading Jon Acuff’s Finish. Or rather I have been but put it aside the past couple of months. As a goal/oriented person, I have an endless number of projects but need to focus on completion especially with respect to my writing. One thing I’m adding to creating a backlog of manuscripts is writing more short stories and flash fiction.

Of course there’s give and take. I’m pulling back from running longer distances, and I’m evaluating my commitments. Social media is another area where “less is more” will have to work.

Do you have a 2018 goal or word of the year?

  1. Mine is Bold. This girl needs to put herself out more and take more risks, haha.
