Hey, guys!
This week I thought I’d share a new writing opportunity.
Most of you probably know all about Anne Elisabeth Stengl’s The Tales of Goldstone Wood series.
If you haven’t read them, you should!
You can find her books here: http://www.anneelisabethstengl.com/books
If you’ve heard about Anne Elisabeth Stengl, then chances are you’ve heard about her fairy tale retelling contests. For this contest, writers send in their own versions of classic fairy tales, and five are chosen to be featured in the collection. There’s been three collections so far: Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty!
The final collection is Snow White!
I love the cover. 🙂
You can find all the details about this contest here: http://www.rooglewoodpress.com/writing-contest
So, if you’re looking for a smaller project to work on for the summer, this might be it!
What projects are you guys working on?
Just FYI, the ALLI (Alliance of independent Authors) has similar thoughts that i do about the terms of Rooglewood Press’ contests: https://selfpublishingadvice.org/allis-self-publishing-service-directory/award-and-contest-ratings-reviews/#listing-R “Entrants surrender exclusive, worldwide rights, including subsidiary rights, in perpetuity, without royalties, for the paltry sum of $125.”
I would definitely encourage everyone to read through the contest rules before deciding what they’d like to do. 🙂
