Welcome to Realm Makers JaNoWriMo! We’re hosting a writing challenge, much like NaNoWriMo–but for geeks, and in January. Geeks unite!
**NOTE: JaNoWriMo will last ALL month. Facebook would only let me schedule this for 2 weeks. I’ll see if I can change it later. Muahaha . . .
How will it work? Well, we’re still working out some of the details. But here’s what we have so far.
1. We’re urging Realmies to set a goal of 40K words in January 2017. However, if that’s too steep, we totally want you to set a more reasonable goal that is still a CHALLENGE!
2. Ralene is looking in to ways you can track your progress online. Right now, the only thing she can think of is if you have a WordPress website, you could use …the MyBookProgress widget. Then all your website followers can keep up too! Or, check out https://www.mywriteclub.com/! Ralene signed up at Nadine’s suggestion and thinks it could work!
3. While sprints and such can happen in the main RMC group feed, nightly checkins will be here on the event page.
4. Ralene and Deanna may be looking for people to write short (read 100-400 words) devotional thoughts, writing tips, etc. that can go up during the month to offer encouragement and inspiration. (Photos and memes too!)
5. Please use hashtag #JaNoWriMo for outside posts! 🙂

JaNoWriMo will probably be the focus of my January posts. Maybe I’ll be getting this after all…
I’m planning to participate! I’ve got a new story to work on, and getting it written and out of the way will be a great start to the new year. 🙂

I still have to finish the novel I started in November.
