Realm Makers JaNoWriMo

So, NaNoWriMo didn’t work out for me this year. My sister was in and out of the hospital the whole month of November, and we were running to St. Louis quite a bit. She’s perfectly fine now! We’re so glad.
But, thanks to my Realm Makers family, I get another chance in January with JaNoWriMO! Yay! 🙂

Have you joined the Realm Makers Consortium group on Facebook yet?
Jump over to the Facebook page and ask to join. You should see the JaNoWriMo event there.
I’ve copied the information from the JaNoWriMo event page for you here:

Welcome to Realm Makers JaNoWriMo! We’re hosting a writing challenge, much like NaNoWriMo–but for geeks, and in January. Geeks unite!

**NOTE: JaNoWriMo will last ALL month. Facebook would only let me schedule this for 2 weeks. I’ll see if I can change it later. Muahaha . . .

How will it work? Well, we’re still working out some of the details. But here’s what we have so far.

1. We’re urging Realmies to set a goal of 40K words in January 2017. However, if that’s too steep, we totally want you to set a more reasonable goal that is still a CHALLENGE!

2. Ralene is looking in to ways you can track your progress online. Right now, the only thing she can think of is if you have a WordPress website, you could use the MyBookProgress widget. Then all your website followers can keep up too! Or, check out https://www.mywriteclub.com/! Ralene signed up at Nadine’s suggestion and thinks it could work!

3. While sprints and such can happen in the main RMC group feed, nightly checkins will be here on the event page.

4. Ralene and Deanna may be looking for people to write short (read 100-400 words) devotional thoughts, writing tips, etc. that can go up during the month to offer encouragement and inspiration. (Photos and memes too!)

5. Please use hashtag #JaNoWriMo for outside posts! 🙂

So RSVP now and join in the fun. We’ll be posting more details as the month approaches!

Did you miss out on NaNoWriMo this year? Did you participate in NaNoWriMo but are ready to tackle it again? Why not join the Realm Makers crew for JaNoWriMo next month, and start off the new year with forty thousand new words? I don’t think you’ll regret it. 🙂

JaNoWriMo will probably be the focus of my January posts. Maybe I’ll be getting this after all…

  1. I’m planning to participate! I’ve got a new story to work on, and getting it written and out of the way will be a great start to the new year. 🙂

    • Awesome! We’ve been out of internet at my house for the last week, so I’ve been popping in and out of FB reading comments on the event page. 🙂 Can’t wait!

  2. I still have to finish the novel I started in November.

  3. […] to finish the draft. If you don’t know what that is, read Brittany Valentine’s awesome post. My plan is to have two manuscripts to pitch at Realm Makers. As you can see from my picture of the […]
