2015 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys have once again prepared a 2015 annual report for us.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 53,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 20 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

We had a really good year here at NAF. We were once again one of the many great sponsors of Realm Makers, the Best Writers Conference Ever. There we announced our newest member, Brittany Marie Valentine.

Heather Titus and Tim Ward published their books, graduating to Alumni status. Ralene Burke has published two novellas in her Bellanok series, and Avily Jerome released The Heir, the first book in her Amulet Saga, which started right here on NAF.

We also had some setbacks, as Will Ramirez and I discovered how fickle the publishing business can be when our publisher stopped … y’know … publishing.

But you, dear readers, are what keep this blog going. You helped Avily’s post “Fifty Shades of Rape Culture” go viral, giving us our busiest day of the year—maybe of ever—on February 12 with 3,206 views. That post has since racked up a total of 7,528 views. In fact, Avily dominates our top five posts of the year:

  1. Fifty Shades of Rape Culture — Avily Jerome
  2. Misdirection and the Gullibility of the American People — Avily Jerome
  3. Propaganda and Double Standards: It’s the Liberal Way — Avily Jerome
  4. The Dark Side of Realm Makers — Kristen Stieffel
  5. Big Girls Cry — Avily Jerome

Our top commenters this year are familiar names:

  1. Teddi Deppner
  2. Kessie Carroll
  3. Glynda Francis (clayfoot2)
  4. John Wheeler (Johanan Rakkav)
  5. Yisraela (2embracethelight)

This blog is by, but more importantly for, unpublished writers. Let us know what you enjoy and what you want more of. We’re looking forward to another great year in 2016, and we’re honored to have you journeying with us.
