Xchyler Publishing is having a writing contest in which the winners will be published in its upcoming Winter Fantasy Anthology. Winners will also receive royalties.

The submission period is July 31-August 31. The anthology’s theme is “Out of This World . . . True Story.” Stories must be in the fantasy genre and between 5,000 and 15,000 words. Check the company’s website for full submission guidelines.

Xchyler has also scheduled two more contests:

Steampunk, with submissions accepted from Nov. 30 to Dec. 31, with a release date of May 31, 2015. Theme: “Losers Keepers”

Paranormal, with submissions accepted from March 31 to April 30, 2015, with a release date of Sept. 26, 2015. Theme to be announced.

Xchyler is an imprint of Hamilton Springs Press. The company isn’t specifically aimed at the Christian market and doesn’t specify their opinion on faith-based stories.

Xchyler Publishing focuses on Paranormal and Steampunk but welcomes submissions from other fiction genres, such as Mystery and Fantasy.

They are specific about what they don’t want: “erotica, gratuitous gore, Satanic themes, nor manuscripts promoting child abuse, drug abuse, illegal activities, or self-harm.” The publisher will be open to novel submissions Oct. 1–Nov. 30.
