Realm Makers Blog Voyage

Realm Makers logo smI was hoping to have a fun flier to post today, but alas, it didn’t happen. Instead, you get to listen to me babble on excitedly about . . . Realm Makers Blog Voyage!

What is this Blog Voyage that I speak of? Well, I’m glad you asked!

Realm Makers  is a must for anyone and everyone diving into the world of speculative fiction, especially if you’re a Christian! Registration opens on March 1. That’s right, registration opens in less than a month, and we want to get the word out!

So . . .

We’re doing a blog hop!

Who: People from around the speculative fiction world are going to host Realm Makers on their blogs every day (except Sundays) from February 17-March 8.

What: The blog hop is going to be an array of fun posts: press releases, Q&As with founder Rebecca P. Minor about herself and about Realm Makers, personal accounts of last year’s experiences, and why people should attend this year. A little bit of something for everyone.

When: Uh–didn’t I already say that? Oh, fine. February 17-March 8.

Where: A full listing will be up on the Faith and Fantasy blog on Monday, February 17, but we’ll be posting on the Realm Makers’ Facebook page daily.

Why: Why should you care? Because there’s an awesome prize at stake! Realm Makers is hosting a Rafflecopter giveaway. You can visit each post and earn points toward our Writer’s TARDIS basket. The basket includes:

  • a selection of books from some big names in the speculative fiction world (including keynote speaker Tosca Lee!)
  • several writer’s resources
  • free 5-page edit from Grace Bridges of Splashdown Books
  • free digital subscription to Havok magazine
  • . . . and more!

How: Like I said, check out the coolest spot of the day by visiting the Realm Makers Facebook page or the Faith and Fantasy blog, starting February 17. And then–invite your other speculative fiction writing friends!

Hopefully, I’ll have a fun flyer to share sometime later this week. I’ll just hijack someone else’s day. I’m sure they won’t mind.

Are you planning to attend Realm Makers 2014?

  1. It all sounds like fun, Ralene! 🙂

  2. I’ll be there this year. I wanted to go last year, but couldn’t get time off from work 😦
    This year, it’s all setup!

  3. What kind of fiction us the “Realm Makers” exactly? I mean is it like a comic fiction or something else? Please also tell about where I can register and how much money is required for registration?

    • David — Realm Makers is a conference for Christians who write Speculative Fiction. Which isn’t to say the fiction has to be Christian. Most of us are writing prose, but the conference is certainly open to those who are writing graphic novels — if that’s what you mean by comic. As to whether the writing is funny, if that’s what you mean, well…some of it has humor, but most of us are writing serious fiction.

Registration is about $300 for the full conference. The best place to learn about Realm Makers is on its website: realmmakers.com. Realm Makers 2016 will be July 28–30 in Philadelphia.
