Phantasm Books is hosting the 2013 Assent Publishing “Epic Fantasy” Contest. It’s open to all subgenres of fantasy.*
To enter, you must have a completed manuscript between 85,000 and 120,000 words, or a novella series of at least two novellas of 40,000 words each. One contest submission per author.
Entries must follow all Phantasm Books imprint submission guidelines. The entries will be judged by Assent Publishing’s imprint editors and acquisition editors. The prize is a publishing contract.
Although Assent Publishing is not specifically a Christian market, Deborah Riley-Magnus, imprint managing editor at Phantasm Books, tells me, “I’d love to see fantasy with strong religious themes! I’m always looking for unique and powerful.”
Contest submissions will be accepted through midnight Eastern time, August 31.
* Except erotica. Just so you know.
Thanks for your updates on markets. Really usefull stuff. Better than duotrope. =)
Has anyone compiled a list of Christian markets for speculative fiction, short stories in particular? Are there any left?
The only source I know of, other than Duotrope, is the Christian Writer’s Market Guide, which is of course not SpecFic only. I did put together a list of book publishers, and I’d be happy to compile one of short-story markets also. Anyone who knows of any can e-mail me: kristen@kristenstieffel.com.
