So, want to guess what I did on Saturday?
I added 1,032 words to my WIP!
I know, I know–some big accomplishment. What’s all the fuss about?
If you’ve been following NAF for very long, you know that I’ve faced a very uninspiring dryspell over the last several months. I think I’ve added maybe 2,000 words to this WIP since March. So, the fact that I sat down, read through what I had written so far (about 16K total), and THEN add 1,032 words–well, that’s HUGE. And what’s more… I’m totally confident that I can do it again today (later tonight, after the kids hit the sack). Maybe even more tomorrow! And the day after that, and the day after that, and the…well, you get the picture!
I’m praying with all my might that life does not get in the way, as it seems to keep doing. We’re finally relaxed, settling in at my mother-in-laws until we find a house to buy. Yesterday, however, I took my 5-year-old to the ER with a temperature of 103.5. This after taking her sister on Friday for simliar issues, but lower temperature. Yes, I have a house full of sick kiddos. We were supposed to start school tomorrow (we homeschool), but that’s being put off another week. Maybe with that extra time I really can add some wordage to my WIP.
It’s just such a refreshing feeling knowing that I haven’t lost the love for my story. I was so passionate about this novel when I first started working the idea in my brain. I was excited to put pen to paper–er–fingers on the keyboard and start charting a new world. Life just got in the way. Too much stress. Too much to do. Too much…for me.
Now, let’s see how far I go in the next couple of months! I’m excited! Refreshed! Unstoppable! I am a champion! (Yes, I have a Queen song running through my head!)
Hopefully next week I can also start giving you some posts with a little more meat. Something beyond the play-by-play of my crazy life. 🙂
Way to go, Ralene! Between all my other writing responsibilities, it is sometimes hard to find a word count goal that I can be satisfied with. Lately, I’ve tried 750 words a day, and get it on most days. I’m glad to see you putting some more words into your story. Hopefully this week will see more in that adventure.
