My Precious

Over the last week I’ve taken a break from the internet. Some might call it a forced break due to the fact that my son spilled water on my laptop, frying the baby. I have been waiting for my Precious’s replacement. That is not the case. We have four other pc’s in the house and my husband has his work laptop if I turned really desperate.

I spend a lot of time on my laptop. Throughout the day I check email, write, blog, read news and a wide assortment of time wasters. One might think because I’ve not been on the net I might get a lot more done. I decided to test to see if that would be the case. What did I get done on my break?

The List

1. Finished staining the stairs

2. Front door and back door painted

3. Laundry (for 8 people)

4. Dishes

5. Dusting (daily)

6. Sweeping (daily)

7. Hauling water (3x’s)

8. Cleaned the oven

9. Organized pantry

10. Organized five closets

11. Cooked (daily)

12. Scrubbed two toilets (daily)

13. Went shopping

14. Read 2 1/2 books

15. Vacuum (daily)

16. Mop (3x’s)

17. Clean refrigerator

18. Pick up a 1000 things children left out (daily)

19 Did lessons with the kids (daily)

20. Organized book shelves (4)

21. Iron work clothes (daily)

22. Strip and remake beds (6)

23. Clean windows (11)

24. Talking on the phone with Momma (10x’s a day) 😛

Now it looks like I got a whole lot done, and I suppose I did. But this is less than what I normally do. My productivity is down because I haven’t had my central hub of operations. Add to that list editing, writing, an average of 500 emails a week, critiquing, facebooking and phone calls with various friends that bless me with their time. I feel like a complete loafer this week.

Don’t worry about me though. All is right in my world once again. My new Precious came by way of UPS today. Pretty, Precious.

Peace, love and God’s will.

  1. My precious! I’ve been wondering where you were. I mean, I knew your laptop got fried, but I didn’t have a chapter to review last week! 😛

It does look like you were pretty busy and were able to get some not-every-day type chores done. That’s a plus!

    • That is a pretty standard week of chores. I always have some kind of project going in edition to my chores and writing. 😀

  2. 🙂 How is the recuperating of lost data going? You’ve been on my mind a lot this past week.

    • I have to wait for Quinton to pull the hard drive. 😦 But no fear, the man knows what he’s doing. Thank you, Silly Girl. We need to talk some time soon. 😀

  3. The virtual world (and at least one turtle) missed you, Vaulter. I’m glad the respite wasn’t health-related.

You might warn us next time. We’ll still pray for you. 🙂

  4. Yay! Missed ya, and glad yer back! 😀

  5. My Dearest youngest daughter,

I do nothing all day but sit around and think of things to call you for.

  6. I’m tired just reading your list!

  7. You are pretty special…and I’d say you worked pretty hard for your new “Precious”, as if you don’t anyway haha. Have I told you lately “you are a great writer and I just love to read anything you write”? 🙂
