Special Guest – Chila Woychik

Introduction

by Keven Newsome

We are honored this month to have author, publisher, and editor Chila Woychik (C. Maggie Woychik).

Not only is Chila a published author, she is also the managing editor and co-owner of Port Yonder Press.  This small indy-publisher is growing exponentially and only accepts the most excellent works submitted.  Their attention to quality has pushed them to the forefront of small press publication.

Unfortunately, they are closed for submission right now.

But that shouldn’t stop you from getting to know the spunky honesty of Chila.  She’s always willing to get to know a new friend, to share her opinion, and to take your Starbucks.

Speak piratey to her and she will smile.

Not only does she share with us today a little about her journey as an author, but she has shared a poem with us.  This is good, because getting a hold of some of her work has proved to be difficult.  Today I checked out her book on Amazon and found that the only two new copies available were going for $133 and $259!

Forget the chest mateys, I’ve found me treasure right here!  ‘Tis gold plated to boot!

Chila Woychik is all over Facebook too.  Make sure you friend and/or like at least one of her pages.  Arrr… here be links.

And now… Chila Woychik in her own words.

  1. A big anvil welcome to, Chila. Thank you for having a mug with us scalawags. 😛

  2. The more I learn about you, Chila, the more your tenacious spirit is revealed, and I realize how God gifted you to float the PYP flagship.

  3. Very encouraging, Chila. Thanks for sharing with us all of this. I feel as if you’ve really only scratched the surface of what you could have told us though. I wish you much success with PYP. 😀

    • I’m available for a return visit sometime, David. Maybe more of a q&a format would provide more in-depth info.

Hey, I just realized I could have / should have replied to a few of these posts individually. But I’m now making up for my laxness. 🙂

  4. I treasure Chila’s friendship and, of course, my copy of her “I Run to the Hills.”

  5. And thanks to the rest of you, Diane, Kerry, and Susan, though you all were actually covered in the “thanks for the invite” reply. Ah well. Next time I’ll make it all a little bit tidier. ~C
